It’s March! I can hardly believe it. And with four inches of snow last night, it doesn’t quite feel like spring here yet. I wanted to start something new for the newsletter, something that I enjoy consuming from others: favorite things lists. So at the top of each month, I’ll give you my five favorites from the past month. Everything from skincare to tv shows to podcasts to snack items.
Vanderpump Rules — Somehow I got sucked into the craziness going on in the Vanderpump Rules universe over the weekend (IYKYK) and it’s giving very Season 1 vibes. This current season of the show has felt like old school Vanderpump, the Vanderpump we all know and love, after a tough past few seasons, and I’m here for it. And if you’re a Bravo Girlie like myself, my favorite recap podcast for a good 4+ years has been Everything Iconic with Danny Pellegrino. I’ve lost interest in 90% of the shows and really only keep up with VPR or Housewives of Potomac, but still listen to his recaps because he is delightful & hilarious.
Range Platform — I’ve shared Kara Duval and her pilates, strength training platform before but really, she is a gem in the world of online trainers and programs and I can’t sing her praises enough. As a former personal trainer myself, her knowledge & education is the best of the best. The language she uses is gentle, loving, and well… correct. She has an incredible section for prenatal and postpartum that helped me during my labor and my healing. I do 15-20 minutes every single morning and it’s one of those workouts that you actually look forward to doing.
Peanut Chicken Spring Roll Bowls Recipe — Oh. Oh my Lordy lord. I made this recipe last week and am *hooked*. The peanut sauce is addicting. The combo of the vegetables and chicken and rice noodles is perfection. It really is more of a summer staple recipe but I am putting this recipe on rotation week after week until I’m sick of it. This is one of those recipes that I use our leftover roasted chicken in BTW (I had a few of you ask for more of those recipes after sharing it on social media last week).
Kelp Mineral Mask — I’m usually not a big mask person but I stumbled upon Kelp Mineral, a female owned business on the opposite side of the state, and ordered myself some fossilized kelp mineral powder. I’ve been doing a weekly face mask with it and it really is the best face mask I’ve ever used (you can also use it in the bath!).
Fabric & Deadstock — My wonderful and talented mom has been sewing and sending us curtains for the entire house (our next project is a linen duvet for the guest room!). We’ve been having fun and going cross eyed looking for fabrics online together and have ordered two different fabrics from MingJingCo (the quality is soooo beautiful) that I had to share. I also found and ordered some fabric from a female owned Canadian brand called BlackBird that offers deadstock options as well. With a sewing machine of my own, it’s my goal to make some simple summer outfits for Saga this year!
With Gratitude,
Caitlin
